Features
1.
Unlike many other projects of this kind in the country, all the
equipment and instruments in the GeoLab are fully functional and
being operated by Pakistani researchers.
2.
Preparation of Pakistan’s first Geological Standard Reference
Material (SRM).
3.
The research work by the GeoLab on the quantity and quality assessment
of magnesite and rock phosphate in Abbottabad District, NWFP has
yielded highly encouraging prospects for their possible use in the
manufacture of an uncommon fertilizer called ‘Fused Magnesium
Phosphate (FMP).
4. More than 250 research papers, monographs and Books are published
by the GeoLab researchers.
5. The chemical and geological research sections analyzed more than
15,500 samples for about 140,500 estimations.
6. Through the GeoLab Human Resource Development Programmes more
than 200 researchers from Geological Survey of Pakistan and Sister
Organizations were trained.
