The
museum has a regular educational service with its special features
such as conducted tours on prior appointment, popular lectures
for students keeping in view their curricula of studies. Special
exhibitions for new mineral and fossil finds are a regular feature
of the museum. The museum also holds group activities and workshops
for the promotion of earth sciences, quiz programs, various
events and special days for families and children. For popularizing
the role of earth sciences in the service of society and educational
purposes, there is no admission fee charged and entry is absolutely
free. Photography is also allowed in the museum. For the convenience
of visitors a tuck shop and souvenir kiosk has been provided
on the museum foyer. It offers light refreshments and the souvenir
kiosk caters to the needs of visitors to buy gift items at bargain
prices. Visitors are requested to kindly refrain from bringing
edibles and beverages to the museum premises. Smoking and betel/gum
chewing in the galleries is strictly prohibited. Limited parking
is available inside the parking lot near the main entrance.
Museum remains open from 9 Am to 3 PM, Monday through Saturday;
with Friday till 12 and closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Visit it once and you would indulge in exciting learning activities.
