Sealed application with rates are invited from reputed companies / firms, already registered with income tax department, for preparing core boxes which will be used during drillings operations in Badin, Sanghar and Mirpurkhas areas for coal and core preservation.

 

Specification for core box is as under:

 

i.                     Length - 1 meters

ii.                   Width - 35 cm

iii.                  Height - 7.5 cm

iv.                 Weight 5 kg

v.                   Inside 5 partitions for core and coal preservation, handling facility at two sides for easy shifting of boxes and lock system (kunda and karro)

vi.                 Core boxes made of galvanized 22 gauge sheet with cover.

 

Sealed quotations with rates may reach this office within seven days of the appearance of this advertisement. “Application and Rates for Core Boxes” should be written on the envelope.

 

Note: The Competent Authority reserves the right to reject any or all the applications without assigning any reason thereof.

TENDER NOTICE

 

 

1.      Thar Coalfield of Sindh Province discovered by the Geological Survey of Pakistan in 1992 is one of the largest lignitic coal deposit of the world having over 175 billion tones of coal reserves. This coalfield is expected to contain commercially exploitable reserves of Methane gas (CBM) which can be used as clean fuel.

2.      Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP) intends to make an initial assessment of CBM potential of the field by testing 4 drill holes. Thar coalfield for obtaining methane as fuel from coal seams under lying about 200 m thick overburden to establish suitability for commercial utilization.

 

A.     The drilling of holes will be undertaken by the GSP. The services of a consultant and testing equipments will have to provided by the bidder.

 

B.      Collection of CBM samples, their storage and analyses will be responsibility of the consultant.

 

3.      Reputed firms / consultants, having a minimum practical experience of 10 years in Pakistan and / or abroad in CBM testing and production industry are invited to offer most competitive rates for carrying out the test in Thar Coal Basin. .

 

a.       Credentials of company (details of professional man-power available, nature and details of previous experience in CBM mining including financial soundness certificate from a reputed financial institution).

 

b.      Financial proposal.

 

 

4.      The interested bidders would be required to submit their proposal in the light of para-3, evaluation (as per consultant selection criteria / procedure of the Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan) along with 2% to total cost as earnest money favouring Project Director, Thar Coal Project by September 10, 2006.

 

5.      The Tender will be opened on 10th September 2006 in front of all bidders at 1130 in the in the presence of bidders who are to attend.

 

6.      The success of bidder will be required to take up the job within a month after award of contract and signing of agreement with GSP.

 

7. The competent authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals,

without assigning any reason.
